Breadcrumb Cybersecurity Partners with Mercatus Center at George Mason University

One uncertainty facing the global economy is whether there will be a geopolitical incident in the Taiwan Strait. An outright invasion of Taiwan by China, a Taiwanese declaration of independence, or an accidental clash at sea between China and Taiwan or the United States—any of these developments could lead to a crisis in the Taiwan Strait. 

In this important publication, Dr. Weifeng Zhong lays the groundwork in explaining how submarine cables and container shipments – two Immediate risks to the US Economy – would be impacted if China invaded Taiwan.

In partnership with The Mercatus Center, Breadcrumb Cybersecurity was pleased to contribute cybersecurity analysis to the research efforts led by Senior Research Fellow Dr. Weifeng Zhong.

Brian Horton, chief executive of Breadcrumb Cybersecurity, which tried – along with the FBI – to identify the site’s owners, said his firm used open-source tools aimed at finding out as much as possible about their identity, including evidence of malevolent activity, known associated files and websites and domain names.
